LET’S GET TO WORK
Our work together will center around creating a lifestyle that will honor the Body as Ally. This includes working with the Four Pillars/Devotions: Intake, Daily Rhythm, Physicality, and World View (read About to learn more).
Our work begins with honest inquiry of your current lifestyle in reflection to the architecture of the Four Pillars/Devotions. It may look completely opposed, or it may appear not too far off, it might even appear spot on! But if you are committing to this transformative path, we start with an assumption that we can go deeper still.
The Four Devotions serve as the reference points that we will continually touch on in order to uphold the central relationship of Body as Ally - these will evolve overtime as you continue to move along the path of Transformation.
Throughout our work together, the guidance I offer is an approachable and supportive blend of lifestyle suggestions, contemplative work and, most of all, physical practice.
Mentoring will include teachings on Fitness routines that bring strength, stamina, alignment, flexibility and fluidity of movement. To support our bodies, we also include dietary recommendations or restrictions, sleep hygiene protocol, meditation, reading and journaling suggestions, etc.
Your personalized regimens will evolve as we go, and will be informed by our weekly sessions as we utilize tools that allow your emerging relationship with your Body to inform which direction we take.
We will engage with somatic experiencing, guided journey, hypnogogic states, moving meditations, and free writing to allow the mind to hear and translate the requests of the Body. At times, the ego and linear mind might want to revolt, things might even appear arbitrary and or nonsensical! These will be opportunities to lean into your devotion to the wisdom of what your Body is trying to communicate. As transformation is often uncomfortable, we will welcome any challenge that might arise as a sign of being on the path.
Although in-person work is always my personal preference, online work can be just as powerful, especially in the beginning of our work together. Group and in person work is always encouraged when time and resources allow. It is recommended to book one to two 1:1 mentoring sessions per week in our first two to three months together. And as time goes on, and the Pillars of your work with Body as Ally solidify, we might choose to meet less frequently.
I’m here to answer any questions you might have. You can send me a note or book an initial consultation.
Initial consultations allow us to get to know one another. This time will give you the chance to ask any questions you might have and hear a bit more about the architecture of the work we might undergo together.
I look forward to getting started!
“I’ve been training in aikido, capoeira, and a variety of hybrid fitness forms for 15 years. Ryan Miller is the most joyful, compassionate, and connected movement arts instructor I’ve ever met. I feel held and seen, challenged and encouraged, every time I have worked with him. His shamanic perspective, deeply rooted in traditional healing arts, makes him a unique practitioner with a visionary sense of where movement arts training may lead us, beyond our present conflicts into the unknown. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
